Today I got to Ft. Nelson from Jasper, no problems, where I met up with the Mile 0 marker of the Alcan Highway. It is interesting that all the historic spots are at mile markers, when everything else in Canada is in kilometers. I’m sure that’s because it was originally built by the US Army Corps of Engineers.
Heading North!
It was a nice ride, I got to a campground pretty late and my camping neighbors invited me over for a slice of strawberry-rhubarb pie. They were 4 friends who were going on a 180 mile rafting trip.
The most notable thing about this campground were the mosquitoes. If they are this bad here, I am dreading Alaska. What a horrible little creature, God, why did you make them?
Odometer reading: 9,580
